The JCHS PTSA sponsored a Hazing Awareness and Prevention presentation to the Class of 2025.

Rae Ann Gruver from the Max Gruver Foundation spoke about recognizing the signs of hazing, prevention, and how to take action against hazing.  The topic of hazing is applicable in many scenarios from college sorority/ fraternities, to academic clubs, bands, sports teams, and social cliques of all ages. She and her husband have been leading advocates for changing legislative laws related to hazing and holding organizations to 100% transparency regarding hazing. In July of 2025, every university/ college will be required by federal law to post incidents related to hazing on their websites.  Look on http://hazinginfo.org  to see if your college has any incidents or violations among its organizations.

A special thank you to Principal Shearer and Ms. Nori-Schoen for supporting this important topic, and equipping our seniors with the knowledge so that they can make an impact wherever they go after graduation!!!.

For more information about hazing, the state of Georgia’s Max Gruver Act, and Amnesty laws go to the Max Gruver Foundation at www. maxgruverfoundation.com.

Watch On Hulu : Death in the Dorms Season 2, Episode 4 to watch the full Max Gruver hazing incident story. #flyhighmax

Attendance Office Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for a few volunteers to fill regular shifts in the attendance office.  For more information, please email ashleydmullins@gmail.com

Volunteers:

JCHS often needs parent volunteers, so please join the PTSA!

All school volunteers will need to register to assist with working in the office, attendance office, drama department, team meals, senior treats, Wellness Wednesday, senior carnival, chaperones, etc.

Any task that will allow you to interact with students will require you to register as a volunteer.

Please follow the link to access the FCS Volunteer Registration page. Register as a Volunteer - Fulton County School System (fultonschools.org)

All visitors must remember to bring in their driver's license each time they sign in. This is non-negotiableThe license will need to be scanned each time they come to the office. It will not hold onto the information like the other system. So, if you are coming in for a parent/counseling/teacher/administrator meeting, you must remember to bring your license. It must be the physical license, digital will not suffice.
