PTSA Membership Drive

The JCHS PTSA needs your help!  Did you know that 100% of your PTSA membership dollars goes directly back to the school to support your students?  Each year our membership numbers are dropping.  Which means each year there is less money for us to spend on student scholarships, classroom mini grants to enhance the learning experience, and wellness programs every month for student benefit, just to name a few.  This is a critical year for us.  If we are unable to increase our membership base, we will have to cut funding to programs that benefit our students.  Please help us build back our membership base so we can expand programs that benefit our kids! There are various levels of membership and any donation is greatly appreciated.

WELLNESS

The first Wellness Wednesday was held September 20th - Be a LIFESAVER- Lifesaver Gummies were the treat.  800 servings to be exact.  We teamed up with Pathways to Life, Summit and our own Counselors to highlight the Suicide Prevention Campaign - ACT - Acknowledge, Care, Tell (a Trusted Adult.)  We also reminded students of the schools resources available for mental health assistance.  Our next event is Oct 25th-  We are planning a RETRO RECESS- old school games.  Contact Misti Howie at howiehome@msn.com to volunteer.  Thanks to all our volunteers and Coach McClellan for going table to table and reviewing the campaign with kids.  Misti Howie- Wellness VP

REFLECTIONS

National PTA Reflections: Explore the Arts and Express Yourself.  The National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the art and in life.

The Johns Creek Police Department is having its annual Truck or Treat in October and needs candy donations to make the event awesome! Students and staff are asked to bring in new bags of candy and drop them in the decorated boxes in the main lobby and admin office. The more bags the better since we are in a competition with Hooch and Northview. Let's show the JCPD how generous we are by filling up those boxes. Donations can be brought in through the week of October 9th.
