Weekly Newsletter - April 12, 2022

Staff Appreciation Week
April 11-15

JCHS will be celebrating our hard working staff members during Staff Appreciation Week April 11th-April 15th.

STAFF SUPPORT WOULD LIKE TO GET THE STUDENTS INVOLVED THIS YEAR! HERE'S HOW STUDENTS CAN PARTICIPATE:

  1. Tuesday, April 12th - Please have your student bring "Next drink is on me" for each teacher.  K-cups, individually wrapped tea bags, Hot Chocolate packet, Kool-Aid packet, lemonade packet are just a few examples (one per teacher). Unprepared drink mixes will not weigh down a backpack!!
  2. Thursday, April 14th - Students are encouraged to leave "Uplifting Post-It Notes" on white board or desk.
  3. Friday, April 15th - Please have your students bring a heartfelt, hand-written thank you note to each teacher.

 Celebrating Honor Roll Students

The PTSA held the Spring 2022 Honor Roll Recognition Event on March 15th during the three lunch periods. More than 1200 students received their favorite Auntie Anne's pretzels.

The event was a great success. So many happy faces on campus!

Thank you to all the administrators and volunteers who helped with the event!

Interested in Joining Student Council?

All potential new members AND returning members must fill out an application that you can get from Mrs. Lovern in room 256 or Mrs. Clark in room 238.

Applications will be due no later than Tuesday, April 19th at a mandatory informational meeting held at 8 am in Mrs. Lovern’s room.

Failure to attend the meeting will result in not being considered for the council.

This is only for student council; there will be a separate application process for class councils which will be announce later.

Senior Gold Envelopes!

The JCHS Senior Events Committee is sponsoring Senior Gold Envelopes for all graduating seniors. This tradition is a special opportunity to honor our 2022 graduates with personalized notes or cards to commemorate this distinctive event in their lives. We invite you, other family members, friends, VIPs and members of the JCHS faculty to write notes of congratulations to your son or daughter. We will collect these cards and notes for each student and distribute them before graduation. Every senior will be presented with a large Gold Envelope containing the collected notes and cards. The notes and cards will be kept confidential until graduation.

How it works:

  • Ask your family and friends to write a card or letter congratulating your senior.
  • Have them mail or deliver to your home address.
  • Bring all cards and letters to school from May 2 - 6, 2022 – there will be a drop-off station. More details to come as we get closer.
  • Do not bring money or gifts. Only cards or letters no larger than 8.5 x 11.
  • Include on the envelope:
    • STUDENT’S FULL NAME
    • Johns Creek HS – Senior Gold Envelopes

All cards/letters must be received by May 6, 2022! Unfortunately, no exceptions can be made.

Let’s show the Class of 2022 how special they are to us and that we acknowledge their achievements over the last 12 years.

Calling all volunteers!

We need parent volunteers to help with textbook inventory. It’s really easy! We need one or 2 parents to go to the book rooms and scan the books in our system. Ms. Robyn Vogel will show you how to scan the textbook inventory on the school laptops.

Grab a friend or neighbor and spend a couple hours catching up while helping our JCHS media center! It's a quick and easy way to help out our school.

If you have not registered as a volunteer since January of 2021, please click the link below:

https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/9539

Also, be sure to sign in as a volunteer in the front office upon arrival. We appreciate YOU!

Volunteers, Please Read!

If you have signed up to volunteer for any event you must sign in as a Volunteer, not Visitor.

Volunteers who have an expired registration or who have not completed the mandatory volunteer registration and training, as required by Fulton County Schools, will not be able to volunteer as it is a Safety & Security issue on campus.

Training is only valid for two (2) years, so if you cannot recall when you last received training, it may be time to renew.  Luckily, it's quick and easy!

Click on the link below ⬇️ to get started or renew your registration and training.
